MLMU, Hilton Johnson

I signed up for MLMU about a year ago. I found out about MLMU through Peak Potentials training. They offer a free email called T. Harve recommends and this was one of the courses they recommended for anyone wanting to be successful in network marketing.

I have a lot of respect for Peak Potentials training and T. Harve Ecker. I will do some reviews of Warrior Training and Millionaire Mind Intensive Seminar in a late blog.

Needless to say I went and did a free ½ hour phone consultation with them. It was basically a demonstration of what they have to offer by actually using what they offer on you. I was pretty impressed. I believe the guy I spoke with is very well trained on the phones and quite a good closer. Anyway he asked me to tell him what I did to build my business currently and at that time I was buying leads and using some of the training I had received from Integritas who uses Tim Sales as a training Guru. He said I was wasting my time because it took so long and as a networker I was looking to call as many people as possible as quickly as possible because that is the nature of network marketing. You have to find people who are looking and buying leads and calling people involves a lot of sifting and filtering, which is why I believe it’s so ineffective.

His script was very to the point and effective and with the right posture I believe would work quite well. At the time I was running out of my budget for leads and for products so I was pretty much done with phone calling purchased leads. I made it through about 60 and had two sign up who never did much. One is now with me on my current venture, but that is another story. I never did try the script out.

What they offer at MLMU is very much training in how to build your business in the warm market. I hated the notion of building in the warm market and was so confronted with the idea that I never did much. They offer many warm market tricks so that the prospects never really know they are being prospected and they offer different way to speak to people so that you become more attractive to them. I use a lot of the skills I learned at MLMU in my current venture and at my dental practice. They also offer some training in how to do a good presentation. This also something that is very helpful and I carry with me to my current venture and in the dental practice.

What I have found is that there is nothing new that Hilton offers that is not basic stuff offered by your upline. Basic qualifying questions, elevator conversations, five minute presentations. It’s all very basic stuff and it’s all stuff that works and is very non threatening unless your like me and are very confronted with talking to people about MLM. It’s all very organized and they give you a coach who has been very successful in the networking industry. That was a big selling point for me, I took the attitude that if he could do it I could do it. Except I was stopped by the fear of sharing MLM so I stopped talking to him. He was very helpful.

See I thought I was willing to do whatever it takes to be financially free, but it’s like the old Meatloaf song “I would do anything for love, but I won’t do that.” I won’t bother friends and family.

Now with my current venture I have moved into the warm market and I have talked to some safe people. I have had some people register, and it wasn’t as scary as I thought it would be. They didn’t freak out, althought I don’t know what they are saying behind my back. And I know as long as I worry about that I will not be successful in the warm market.

So that is why I am an advocate of the different trainings out there that offer ways to become a guru in your own right. And how to offer generic training because the promise there is you become someone who is sought after. Magnetic sponsoring is the name of the game with true marketing.

So as far as my experience goes with MLMU is I never got past the basics. I got confronted and gave up. The basics are supposed to last about 2 months and their training goes for a year. Wow I wonder what would have happened after a year. But see why did I give up? What was missing in their training that caused me to give up? I would imagine their training is for more experienced and comfortable MLM people, but then those people can find what MLMU offers at a much cheaper rate somewhere else. And even for relatively free from your upline. Now if you get nothing from your upline then MLMU may be the proper place. I believe for MLMU to be successful I would need daily pep talks and daily stories of other people who went through what I went through. Because it’s very easy to fall into negativity and let the negativity that’s out there swallow you up.

Did you pay for the entire year at MLMU? Just curious because I heard that they won't let you alone once they get you to join.

Hilton Johnson is using his MLMU recordings masquerading as a part of the curriculum for Health Coaching U. The remaining class time is based on three books that the student has to buy on their own. This training schedule lasts a year but could be completed in about two...but then they couldn't charge $595 a month for twelve months. DON'T DO IT!!!!!!!

I love Hilton Johnson and MLMU because when I signed up for their Business Coaching program, I was only making about $500 to $600 a month in my network marketing business. I learned the program very well and by the time I finished the course 12 months later, I was making over $5000 a month. I was so impressed that I took their second year program called Leadership Coaching and at the end of my second year I was making a little over $13,000 a month.

And now I understand their first year program is even better than before. This new program is called “Getting into Action” and in the first month you learn how to find all your leads and prospects for Free. And then you learn how to approach those prospects, how to invite them to look at your business or products, how to set a professional appointment with them, how to give a very effective presentation and close and enroll them in your business. Then you learn how to train your downline and get them into action right away. And all that in the first month.

I would recommend MLMU to anyone who is ready to learn how to professionally build a successful network marketing business. You can check this out for yourself by going to www.mlmu.com and clicking on the free business analysis button.

Here is wishing you all the very best of success.

I'm not finding any value in the health coach program. Lots of info recycled from his other programs. Has anyone tried to legally break the contract?

Coach Thomas loves MLMU because he is one of their coaches. Kind of a biased opinion if you ask me. My advice after being in MLMU for 2mos and having tried 2 of their coaches (Thomas being the first one) so far is STEER CLEAR. AVOID THIS COMPANY LIKE THE PLAGUE! Their training is low quality and their contract is designed to take your money. It is unfair and completely one-sided, meaning you have no rights if you are an unsatisfied customer. They don't deliver what their website promises in that they will 'create a total success plan that's tailored to YOUR needs.' Nothing is tailored to you, everyone gets the same training and the same assignments so you can be an MLMU clone when you're done. They don't care if you are an unhappy customer and that is the whole purpose of their 'no refunds, no cancellations'contract. So they can take your money and then when their program doesn't deliver what they promised and you complain that you are not satisfied, their attitude is too bad so sad. It's unethical and pathetic that this is how they have to make money from people. Once you sign that contract you are left with two options: Endure their horrific waste of money program for a whole year or leave and pay the full tuition anyways. If you don't pay up they threaten to take legal action. They are driven by GREED and don't give a @#$% about you!DON'T DO IT! Look on the internet...you can find WAY better training than MLMU offers for FREE!

I was just researching Hilton Johnson and came upon this post. Thanks for posting everyone. I will NOT be signing up.

Just fyi, just because you signed a contract doesn't mean you're stuck paying for it. There are various ways to get out of a contract, including fraud. first, I would file a complaint with the BBB in Florida (Hyatt Production is a member and you can do it online) and with your State's Attorney General's Office Consumer Affairs. I did this with Dell, a billion dollar company, and got quick assistance. Plus if they get enough complaints, your Attorney General will file a lawsuit on your behalf. Make sure you mention filing a complaint with your Attorney General when you file your BBB complaint. The possibility of legal action from the state will usually hurry any business - legit or not - up.

If that doesn't work - but it probably will - you should talk with an attorney. If you can't afford a consult, post on one of the "ask an attorney" websites, include language from the contract. If you're desperate, sign up for a Hyatt Legal Plan (I'm assuming they can be cancelled after a month. If not, don't sign up unless the plan costs way less than the Hilton contract.) Hyatt Legal doesn't have very experienced attorneys but even a new attorney can help you.

Hope this helps. Thanks everybody.

Like Cerentee Anderson, I was looking for info on Hilton Johnson and found this post.

Being a fellow Cincinnatian, I had to give Chris's post a read.

Is this blog really about MLMU? He used it for a short time, was overwhelmed, and stopped? Then when onto a different system?

He says he was buying cold market leads, and calling them. Then in review of his consult with MLMU rep, he says, "His script was very to the point and effective and with the right posture I believe would work quite well...I never did try the script out." And "So as far as my experience goes with MLMU is I never got past the basics. I got confronted and gave up."

Without identifying what is in MLMU, yet saying we can get it from our upline, that leaves a wide open field. I can't remember ever being offered an effective phone script!
